Dimensions allows you to attribute an unlimited number of characteristics, such as
regions, periods, or departments to the information you record and use in your daily
work, giving you the power to ask searching questions about your business and act
upon the answers.

With Microsoft Dynamics®-NAV, you can also
use dimensions to allocate responsibility. For
example, by using dimensions on posted
entries and budget entries, you have the
ability to monitor how individual departments
or regions are performing and to compare
performance with previous periods and
budgeted amounts. Dimensions makes it
easy to filter and sort ledger data and allows
you to set up rules for how to combine
dimensions and dimension values. The
possibilities for creating new dimensions and
changing existing ones are endless.
